Sony Computer Entertainment Japan today announced the arrival of a PSN-driven rental video service on PSP. Like its PS3 counterpart, select titles can now be purchased at a reduced fee and thanks to the wonders of DRM technology, playable for 72 hours following a completed transaction. Additionally, rented titles can be transferred to PS3 via USB connection. Up to ten movies in SD format can be placed on a 4GB Memory Stick Pro Duo.
Considering this feature is already available to North American PS3 owners, we suspect it’s only a matter of time before Sony implements it on PSP over yonder.
