Homebrew coders Xenogears and Becus25 is back on the scene to release their own custom firmware for version 5.50. The Custom Firmware 5.50 MHU is compatible to all PSP-1000 and PSP-2000 models except for PSP owners with TA-088v3 mobos.
To install the CFW:
Copy the UPDATE folder into PSP / GAME
Copy the FW 5.50 in the UPDATE folder and rename it SCE.pbp
Start the application
At the end of this update, when prompted, press x to restart the console
And just a little note from the devs, you won't be able to run games using Sony NP9660 driver in this version so for the mean time, use the M33 driver instead. These and other problems will be addressed in future update so stay tune.
