Head To Head: Console Vs. Tablet. Which Device Is Better? - Let's Talk About Gaming
Since this is a gaming site we're on, it makes sense that we should spend a little bit of time talking specifically about games. Last week I praised the console for it's vast library of different titles, and essentially I'm back to do the same again. When you lump all gaming consoles into one massive category, the result you get is a shiny orb that contains 95% of the greatest games we have ever played. With Kratos, Mario, and Master Chief all working for the same team for once, it's a bit difficult to say anything truly competes with that. Not to mention compared to what we see on tablets these games are absolutely expansive. With huge lush environments and more add-ons than I can comprehend, console is the place to be for true triple A games.
Tablets mark a very special audience in the industry. Despite having the power to handle titles that are similar to what we see on consoles, the majority of really popular tablet games rarely employ that kind of strategy. Because they don't have a genuine controller to utilize, it's hard to make a really great tablet game that is anything more than casual. That's not to say the games aren't fun. Angry Birds has made billions with good reason and a cheap price just like most other tablet hits, but they pale in comparison to what you see on your home TV. This may be a case of "what kind of gamer are you" to decide which is better, but I know most of you are in the hardcore crowd here so I'm picking the machine best suited to play hardcore titles.
